Bentley station was the first station ever to have had G-Tech dual copers installed in the UK. The station was refurbished using the G-Tech dual coper as a trial of the novel composite platform edging system. The platform was finished within a 10-day period.
It was identified that Platform 2 at Bentley Station had become hazardous to passengers, especially at the front of the platform. The existing coping stones were a mixture of 1000mm x 480mm, 930mm x 760 mm and 1200mm x 1000mm and covered a distance of over 150 metres. The G-Tech dual coper, which meets DDA requirements, was laid to the entire Platform 2 at the station.
