Product: G-Tech Dual Coper Project location: Twickenham Station, London
500 of The G-Tech dual copers (1220mm x 1160mm) were supplied to the southern station at Twickenham.
The hazard yellow tactile replaced the painted yellow line because, comparing to a painted line, the blisters on the tactile make travellers aware they are standing on a line, thus making them more conscious to step back and move behind it.
Any chips or scratches would never damage the yellow tactile surface as the product is yellow throughout ensuring any minor defects would not show up.
One advantage to using the G-Tech dual coper is the faster laying time compared to conventional methods. This results in financial gain on labour costs and possession time. This was reiterated when 300 G-Tech dual copers were laid in a 72 hour single weekend possession at Twickenham Station.
